Pastor Reginald Wade Lawrence was born the son of John and Shirley Lawrence in Baltimore Maryland. His older brother, John Jr., and his younger sister Swakuu Karim, are both ordained ministers in the Baptist church. Educated in Baltimore public schools, he went on to earn a bachelor of sciene degree from Morgan State College (now University), a Master of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, and a Juris Doctotare from the University of Baltimore.
The professional life of Pastor Lawrence includes teaching and administration in the public schools and at the University of Maryland. He practiced private law, and was an attorney for the state of Maryland. He has held positions in the United States Postal Service, the American Red Cross, and attained the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army. As an author, he has published several articles, and in 2005, published his first book; New Wine in New Wineskins.
Pastor Lawrence served as a member of the Deacon Board at Union Baptist Church for twelve years under Reverend Vernon Dobson. Later he entered the ministry as an associate Pastor under Jim Holland of Disciples Bible Baptist Church. In 1997 he assumed the Pastorate upon Pastor holland's retirement. While a pastor at Disciples Church he hosted and produced "No Other Name", a broadcast ministry on WJRO, Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Pastor Lawrence is married to Karen, his wife of over twenty five years, and they are the parents of four children; Monique, Judson, Shelby and Joshua. He was selected to be the Pastor at St. Mark's Institutional Baptist Church in October of 2009 and led the congregation of Disciples Church into a merger of fellowships.
